REALTORS® abide by a strict Code of Ethics and adhere to higher standard of professionalism. The Code of Ethics is a 17 article code that is divided into three sections and in layman’s terms can be described as such:
1) REALTORS® duties to the public,
2) REALTORS® duties to their clients, and
3) REALTORS® duties to each other.
Unfortunately, there are times when the Code of Ethics must be enforced and that is done by our member run organization. If you have an ethics complaint to be filed against a member of the Southwest Missouri Board of REALTORS®, you must do so using the resources of our state association, Missouri REALTORS®. The state association administers any professional standards hearings, cases and/or violations. The Southwest Missouri Board of REALTORS® is managed by the Greater Springfield Board of REALTORS® in a shared services agreement.
